Turkmenistan and Japan discussed the launch of direct air service between the two countries.
Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, met with Yuji Hara, the new President of the Japan Association of Travel Agencies (JATA). The parties discussed the further development of tourism cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.
During the meeting, the Turkmen diplomat congratulated Yuji Hara on his election to the new position. The parties noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and JATA has been developing since 2013, when the country participated in the JATA Travel Showcase.
The conference "Turkmenistan's Tourism Opportunities," held in Tokyo in 2014, and the international conference "Turkmenistan – a Country of Friendship, Brotherhood, and Hospitality," held in 2025 as part of the World Expo 2025 Osaka, were cited as successful examples of cooperation.
The parties paid special attention to the launch of direct flights between the two countries, as well as expanding cooperation between government agencies and tourism companies in Turkmenistan and Japan.
