Dunedin Airport in New Zealand has introduced a new restriction: passengers and those seeing off passengers are prohibited from hugging for longer than three minutes. The announcement appeared in the terminal, and was spotted by CNN journalists.
The announcement quickly went viral on social media, sparking debate among users, some of whom called the policy "inhumane."
Airport administration believes this will help better manage passenger flow at the airport.
Dunedin Airport CEO Daniel De Bono added that for longer farewells, passengers can use the parking area, where they can park for up to 15 minutes free of charge.
