CIS countries have agreed on new measures to develop tourism

The CIS Council of Foreign Ministers has approved an action plan for 2027–2028 to implement the Strategy for the Development of Cooperation among CIS Member States in the Field of Tourism for 2021–2030. The decision was reached on October 7 during a meeting of the Council in Avaza, according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The document consists of seven sections and outlines measures to improve legal regulation, statistical record-keeping, and quality standards for tourism services, as well as to develop safety systems for tourists and tourism-related enterprises.

Specific initiatives focus on the development of hotel and tourism infrastructure, scientific support for the sector, and the training and professional development of personnel.

The plan also provides for the promotion of youth, children’s, and social tourism, the expansion of interregional routes, the marketing of tourism products, and the enhancement of information support for the industry.

The document encompasses long-term projects and programs, alongside specific events and practical organizational measures. Their implementation is intended to unite the efforts of government authorities and national tourism organizations across CIS member states, contributing to the creation of a unified tourism space within the Commonwealth.
