20 decks, 40 restaurants, and 10,000 people: the world's largest liner is ready for its maiden cruise.

The Star of the Seas cruise ship has officially joined Royal Caribbean's fleet and will become the largest ship in the world to sail. The inaugural cruise will depart on August 31 from Port Canaveral, Florida, according to Stuff.

Built in two years, Star of the Seas belongs to the Icon class of ocean liners, the largest in the world. It measures 365 meters in length, 66 meters in width, and is as tall as a 20-story building. According to dnv.com, the ship is 0.07 meters longer than its famous predecessor, Icon of the Seas, which launched in 2024.

The ship will accommodate 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members. On board, they will find:

20 decks (18 passenger);

8 themed lounges;

more than 40 restaurants and bars;

2,805 staterooms of various classes, from standard 14-meter (45-foot) cabins to luxurious suites up to 1,400 square feet (1,400 square feet);

30,500 live plants;

an ice rink with digital shows;

an aquatheater with six waterslides—the largest on a ship;

7 swimming pools (including the largest at sea);

a multi-level theater with Broadway productions;

promenade areas;

separate spaces for family and adult entertainment.

“Star is a symbol of what is possible when innovation, imagination, and our relentless focus on delivering exceptional experiences come together, ultimately creating unforgettable memories for millions of families and vacationers,” said Royal Caribbean President and CEO Jason Liberty.
