Malaysia is home to the world's largest hotel, with 7,351 rooms.

The First World Hotel in Malaysia's Genting Highlands resort maintains its status as the largest hotel in the world. Following its expansion, the complex's room inventory has reached 7,351 rooms, reclaiming its Guinness World Records title.

The resort is located at an altitude of over 1,800 meters above sea level near Kuala Lumpur. It was founded in the late 1960s by entrepreneur Lim Goh Tong as a mass recreation center for residents of the Malaysian capital. In 1971, the complex's first casino opened, prompting rapid development.

Construction of the First World Hotel began in 1997, and it welcomed its first guests in 2001. Initially, the complex boasted over 3,000 rooms. After the opening of the second tower in 2006, their number increased to 6,118.

In 2008, The Venetian in Las Vegas took the lead, but in 2015, First World Hotel regained the top spot after opening an additional tower with 1,233 rooms.

The complex is geared toward mass tourism and is characterized by affordable prices. Standard rooms start at approximately $30 per night. The hotel features restaurants, shopping arcades, and entertainment venues, and average occupancy, according to the report, is close to 90%.
