Canada will open its national parks to tourists for free.
Canada will waive entrance fees to national parks, historic sites, and marine protected areas managed by Parks Canada from June 19 to September 7, 2026.
During this period, visitors will also receive a 25% discount on campsites and other Parks Canada accommodations, including yurts, cabins, tipis, and historic buildings.
The program applies to tourist attractions across the country, from Banff National Park with its glacial lakes to the Gros Morne Plateau.
Parks Canada notes that free admission allows travelers to visit multiple parks in a single trip and reduce the cost of domestic travel.
During the summer, Air Canada operates flights between Montreal and several European cities, including Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome, and Dublin. Flights are also available from Toronto to Barcelona, Madrid, Vienna, Prague, and other European cities.
Among the natural areas closest to Montreal is La Mauricie National Park, with more than 150 lakes. Near Toronto are the Georgian Bay Islands, Thousand Islands and Point Pelee.
