A Universal theme park will be built in the UK for €6.8 billion.

NBCUniversal is investing over £5 billion (€6.8 billion) in the construction of Universal's first European theme park. The facility is scheduled to open in 2031.

The complex, called Universal United Kingdom Resort, will be built in Bedford, England, approximately 45 minutes north of London.

The project includes several themed zones with attractions, a 500-room hotel, retail and entertainment facilities, and restaurants. The company estimates the park will welcome approximately 8.5 million visitors in its first year of operation.

The UK government intends to allocate £1.3 billion to develop transport and other infrastructure in the region.

Approximately 20,000 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase, and an additional 8,000 after the complex opens.

NBCUniversal estimates that the project's economic impact on the country could reach £50 billion by 2055.
