A beach in the Philippines has been named the best in the world.

Entaloola Beach in Palawan, Philippines, took first place in the World's 50 Best Beaches 2026 ranking. The list of the cleanest and most secluded beaches was compiled by Time Out magazine.

Fteri Beach on Kefalonia Island, Greece, came in second, while Wharton Beach in Australia came in third. Nosy Iranya in Madagascar and East Beach on Vomo Island, Fiji followed.

The ranking is based on eight criteria, including unique landscape, wildlife, pristine environment, soundscape (absence of human-made noise), ease of entry into the water, calm waters, lack of crowds, and the likelihood of good weather.

The authors note that seclusion and a preserved ecosystem remain the most important factors. Many beaches either lack tourist infrastructure or are accessible only by boat.

The leading beach, Entaloola, is a small stretch of white sand among limestone cliffs and palm trees and is accessible only by boat. Ftery Beach is known for its clear waters, while Wharton Beach offers dolphin watching and excellent surfing conditions.

The ranking included beaches from more than 30 countries, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, the USA, the UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, the Seychelles, Brazil, and South Africa.
