Which cities have the most expensive one-bedroom apartments: A ranking of the world's capitals
RIA Novosti analysts calculated the cost of renting one-bedroom apartments in the capitals of the world's largest economies using open data. According to the calculations, the most expensive housing is in London and Singapore, at over $2,700 per month.
In London, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $2,700, while in the city center, the price reaches $3,100. In Singapore, the average rent is slightly lower, but still exceeds $2,700.
In Washington, D.C., the average rent is $2,300, while in Amsterdam, it's approximately $50 less. In Dublin, Ireland, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is around $2,200.
Reykjavik, Iceland, is also among the top ten capital cities with high rents, with an average price of $2,160, followed by Luxembourg and Hong Kong (both $2,000), Bern, Switzerland ($1,800), and Copenhagen, Denmark ($1,750). The cheapest housing was found in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, where the average monthly rent is no more than $93. In Islamabad, Pakistan, an apartment will cost $158, in Lusaka, Zambia, and Cairo, Egypt, $175, and in Algiers, $184. In New Delhi, India, a one-bedroom apartment can be rented for approximately $185.
